The Arch of History bends a little close to Justice - Thank you New York!

N.Y. Legalizes Gay Marriage, 42 Years After Stonewall : NPR

I read this this morning with tears in my eyes -joy for those in New York - Thank-you all that worked so hard to make this a reality in your state- tears of longing for what is not yet possible in my own state, Idaho. I think it will take a U. S. Supreme court ruling to change Idaho law, just like it took a Supreme court ruling to strike down Idaho's felony sodomy law. A sad, sad legacy for my beloved home state.

First Post

I've thought long and hard about what to title this blog. I have another blog - A Seminarian Listening Post. However, I'm no longer enrolled in seminary. I am a priest serving in the Episcopal Diocese of Idaho, ordained October 8, 2009. So I'm new at this ministry and vocation. Well, maybe not that new, but I chose the word "newby" to keep before me the idea and value "beginners mind". Also, being a priest is a rather serious undertaking and I'm a rather serious woman. "Newby" balances the seriousness.

I will be using this blog to post my reflections on what's happening within and without, hopefully tracing the flow of the Spirit in all that I am aware of. Gosh sounds self-centered! However, one can only write about what one is aware of. I hope this blog will help me and others be aware of and trace the flow of the Spirit and what the heck She is up to in the world, even the universe.

I will be sharing some of my Facebook postings. I use Facebook for people I actually know, so I've locked down it (I hope - I am concerned about identity theft) except for that which I want the whole world to hope. A fair amount of the things I post on FB I do want the whole world to know - hence this blog.

I dedicate this blog to the glory of God and benefit of God's people, which BTW, is everyone, even all sentient beings. Ah, another topic to write on. Later. There's work to be done!
