Here is a test. How fast can I get my thougts, even feels out on a blog post then get on with this day, this gift God has given me.

In the frenetic way of internet grazing, I stumbled on an Episcopal News essay by Rev. Malcolm Boyd. This brave, wise elder said, " I thought the recent New York Times front page piece about the dissimilar views of six New York Episcopal bishops on gay marriage was startlingly positive. Thank God for such rich dialogue and disagreement in the place of a Vatican-like manifesto issued from on high."

My first thought was "Yes!" then tears. I love The Episcopal Church. We can disagree, go through tough, heated squabbles and return to the table, first, the most important table, the Table of Our Lord, then the table of debate, discussion and fellowship.

This church will live as long as we keep returning to the Table in forgiveness, compassion and love. This church will live as long as we can see the humanity in one another, see Christ in every person.

This Sunday I will renew my vow to, among other solemn promises, to seek and serve Christ in all persons. All persons: Mormon, Muslim, Hindu, Jew, Buddhist, Atheist, Baptist, Republican, Democrat, Libertarian, Independent, cualquier persona. Oh, that we would all strive to live this way, with God's help and Spirit of Love to guide us.

My dear friend, seminarian colleague and barefoot wanderer Kirstine Pasley has died. And for goodness sake, she made the Lead! Me thinks mutual friend Ann Fontaine had something to do with this, as is right and proper so to do. All who were part of the CDSP community will miss her. All who know her will miss her.

Depart, O Christian soul, our friend out of this world;
In the Name of God the Father Almighty who created you;
In the Name of Jesus Christ who redeemed you;
In the Name of the Holy Spirit who sanctifies you.
May your rest be this day in peace,
and your dwelling place in the Paradise of God.
